1866 (Oct. 2) Washington, D.C. to Sydney, New South Wales, c.d.s. with matching segmented cork cancelling 90¢ blue (72) along with 12¢ black, 30¢ orange (69, 71) on Hogan correspondence cover, endorsed "per Steamer via London", red "N.York Br. Pkt. Paid" and "London Paid 15 OC 66" transit datestamps, magenta "112/4" credit (4-times 28¢), "Sydney New South Wales 1866 DE 19" backstamp; flap refolded at top and mended at top edge, also refolded along other edges, 12¢ creased from vertical file fold, Fine, a very fresh and attractive usage; four times the 33¢ British mail rate via Southampton.

THE ONLY RECORDED 90¢ 1861 COVER TO NEW SOUTH WALES FRANKED WITH ADDITIONAL 1861 ISSUE STAMPS.
