1857, 3¢ rose, type I (25), position 47R6, lines on bust and bottom of medallion circle recut, tied by "Staatsburg N.Y. Nov 25" c.d.s. ("25" in pen) on mourning cover to New York, 3c has short perforation at lower left corner, nevertheless Very Fine example of this rare recut which is more elusive on the perforated issue.
