1918, 3¢ violet Offset, type III (529/530), bottom margin strip of 20 of the type IV with two additional partial impressions of a type III in the left selvage, original gum, reinforced separations, small thin one type IV, a striking and unique showpiece.

Accompanying articles from the United States Specialist illustrate the top plate #8735 strip of 20 and the left plate block from this same sheet. The plate block bears the additional plate #8625, a type III plate! The theory is that the partial impression occurred when the press was stopped before the sheet was fed all the way through. Since the sheet was, for all intents and purposes, still "blank" it was put back onto the press for a later run with a different plate.
