Postal Card, 1873, 1¢ brown on buff (UX1 (17), UX3 (93)), old time collection of this first issue which has been selected, for the most part, for the strength of its cancels. A full range of designs are here including St. Louis shields, Pittsburgh (and other city) stars, geometrics (including 2 with N.Y.F.M.), R.R./R.P.O.'s, Masonics, N.Y. negative numerals, various city letters, carrier/city deliveries, blue Royalton, Vt. "PAID 3" in circle, and various other fancies such as pumpkinhead (3), "US" in circle (2 including a beautiful one in purple), negative small crosses (2) and a blue pointing hand. While there are a very few with small flaws, the vast majority are F-VF. A most attractive lot, seldom offered as such in recent years.
