Feb 23" c.d.s. on reverse, carried on Cunard Line steamer America from Boston on 23 Feb. 1859, "Halifax FE 25 1859" receiving backstamp and matching "5" due handstamp, "Blake Bros. & Co. / Boston, U.S." merchant cachet on flap, docketed received Feb. 25; repaired cover tears, Very Fine appearance, the 5¢ open mail rate plus 5 pence due for Nova Scotia inland postage.
