1857 (Jul. 19) New Orleans La. to Bordeaux, France, blue folded cover with blue merchants handstamp, bearing 5¢ red brown (12) vertical strip of three, rich color, large margins on three sides, clear at right except cutting on top stamp, tied by "New Orleans La. Jul 19" c.d.s., red "Boston 'Paid 12' Jul 29" exchange office c.d.s., carried on the Cunard Line steamer America, which departed Boston on July 29 and arrived at Liverpool on August 10, boldly struck boxed "P. D." handstamp in black, reverse with French transits including "Bordeaux 12 Aout 57" arrival c.d.s.; trivial lower right corner crease, Very Fine and choice.
