1870 (29 Dec.) small envelope from Warsaw to Bordeaux (6.1.71.) via Vienna (30.12), bearing 1866 1k, 3k & 20k cancelled octagonal-ring "1", red Warsaw c.d.s. and Mt. Cenis French entry c.d.s. (3.1), red arced box "Franco" and black "A./P.D." handstamps; opening tear at upper right not affecting stamp, Very Fine. Routing was to avoid northern Germany and the Franco-Prussian War.
