(18.9), Odessa-Kiev (28.8/9.9) and Oswiecim (Auschwitz)-Breslau (14.9) railway markings on reverse along with manuscript "5½", Fine.

This cover was delayed in its passage by the Franco-Prussian War. On 4 September France became a Republic and on 19 September the Prussians began the Siege of Paris.
