Newfoundland 1930 (Oct. 9) Miss Columbia Transatlantic Flight, Harbor Grace to Croydon, England, cover franked with special 50¢ on 36¢ overprinted stamp (C5), position 3 in the setting of four, Very Fine, tied by St. Johns machine cancel, Sept. 25, Harbor Grace c.d.s. on reverse, Oct. 9, the day of departure, docketed on reverse "Delivered in London, 11th Oct 1930", Fine and rare. About 100 covers with the special stamp were flown. Endorsed on reverse "Guaranteed in every respect, Whitfield King & Co."
