Windhoek (Unaltered Canceller): 1915 (16 June) envelope locally used in Windhoek, bearing 1913 1d red, cancelled by very fine "Windhuk/Deutsch-/Südwestafrika" c.d.s. (Putzel No. 4), light central vertical crease, Very Fine.

According to Putzel, the unaltered German canceller was used for only a short while and is very rare, although he notes that it had an index A, while the above example shows an Index C that he did not record in his Handbook.
