1844 (Nov. 30) Lawyersville N.Y. to Lima, Peru, blue "Lawyer's Ville Nov 30" two-line manuscript postmark with matching "Ths. Lawyer P.M. Free" postmaster's frank, addressed to his son on the Frigate Brandywine at Lima Peru in South America, endorsed "P.M. must forward this by sloop of war Portsmouth", historical 1844 letter refers to sons trip to China and around the world, and tells of Indian attacks including attack by 300 Indians on court house in attempt to release Indian in fortified jail, also tells of political campaigns and election of Gov. Polk as President and defeat of Whig candidate Clay, Very Fine and interesting content.
