May 11" c.d.s., mistakenly sent to New York, clear red "New-York May 12" c.d.s. with matching "FORWARDED" and "MISSENT" N.Y. straightlines; a Very Fine usage, these auxiliary markings are surprisingly scarce on 1847 covers.
