New York N.Y., 5¢ red brown (1), ample to large margins, attractive darker shade and fine impression, tied by red "6" in circle on 1850 folded letter to manufacturer of axes for whom Collinsville, Ct. was named, matching "New-York Jan 10" c.d.s., manuscript "Paid", stamp with pressed-out vertical file crease, Very Fine appearance, very scarce use of this red encircled "6" normally used for incoming ship letters.
