New York N.Y., 5¢ dark brown, 10¢ black (1a, 2), single of each on separate 1848 folded covers from New York City to Troy N.Y. and Detroit Mich. respectively, each with full clear Christmas Day postmark "New-York Dec 25", first with ample to large margins, handsome dark color, second with mostly ample to large margins, barely touching top right, excellent impressions, both tied by red square grid, 10¢ cover with docketing at top right and some small faults at top center in file fold, just into rim of c.d.s.; still a Very Fine cover pair that makes a unique exhibit page.
