Boston Mass., 5¢ dark brown (1a), margins to cutting at bottom, deep clear impression, tied by red grid and matching "Boston 5cts 13 Jul" c.d.s., used with 1¢ blue on slate (3LB1), mostly ample margins, uncanceled, on 1849 folded cover to Salem, Mass.; 1¢ with usual gum toning and creasing, which "ties" the stamp through the envelope, otherwise Very Fine, rare and handsome combination.
