Württemberg 18kr light blue (Michel 10), vertical strip of five with bottom sheet margin, second stamp with "apostrophe" after right "U" (Mi. 10 I), most framelines intact, tied by several strikes "Weill D Stadt, 7 Mar. 1859" c.d.s. on large envelope sent registered to Kensington (Philadelphia) Pa., U.S.A. magenta "Chargé" and black "Recomandirt" handstamps, red "Aachen, Paid 50 Cts., 10/3" c.d.s., London crowned "Registered" and "Boston, Br. Pkt., Paid, Mar 29", various rate markings in "60" handstamp, backstamped Stuttgart (7.3), Wurttemberg (8.3) and Coblenz-Coeln (9.3) railroads; cover restored at edges and refreshed but an attractive cover and one of the rarest of all Wurttemberg frankings. A double weight letter requiring 6kr for internal postage, 78kr for passage to the U.S., and 6kr for registration. Scott 12.
