Caroline Islands 1914 (7 Aug.) 5pf Bavarian postal card from Kirchheim, addressed to a sailor aboard the light cruiser Emden, handstamped "Zurück" with purple boxed Naval Post Office handstamp indicating that mail could not be delivered to the addressee due to the war, Very Fine. The "Emden" joined the "Spee" Squadron on 12 August 1914.
