German New Guinea 1896 (8 May, error of date) large envelope from Stephansort to Berlin (22.6), bearing 1875 2mk (V37e) block of four and pair each of 1889 10pf & 50pf (V47d, 50d) tied by small Stephansort c.d.s.s. (Steuer type 1), cover is a large (15½"x 6¼") linen envelope sent from the Astrolabe Co. to its headquarters in Berlin; folded once for display, Very Fine. The only recorded use of the small Stephansort c.d.s. on the 2mk stamp.
