VENEZUELA 1933 1st S. America flight, Friedrichshafen-Pernambuco (Michel 294b), registered cover addressed to Ponape, Caroline Islands via Caracas, Venezuela, franked with 5.80m German airmail postage including 4m S. America flight Zeppelin (C39) tied by Görlitz c.d.s.s (20 Apr.), sent via Berlin connecting flight, pre-franked with 20 different Venezuelan stamps (front and back), which are cancelled by undated purple Caracas postmarks upon arrival, also on reverse three Caroline Islands and two Japanese stamps, which apparently served no postal need but are tied by Berlin (20 Apr.), Pernambuco (9 May), Rio de Janeiro (18 May) and Görlitz (27 June) c.d.s.s, the last when the cover was returned to sender as undeliverable, F-VF and no doubt a unique usage.
