10¢ black (2), position 90R, ample to large margins, handsome shade, tied by twice-struck red square grids, matching "New-York May 2" on 1849 folded letter with faint Swarts Post Office oval in orange red, and additional "Letters for N.York City/Direct To" etc. on flap; lettersheet with light even toning which has affected the markings, however stamp is Very Fine, a very scarce usage. Estimate 1,000 - 1,500
