1857, 3¢ dull red, type II (26), grid cancel on all-over French caricature envelope postmarked "Springfield, Ms., Mar 18, 1860" c.d.s., small label on reverse reads "strong reasons make stronger actions", slight abrasions at bottom obscuring part of inscription, otherwise Fine and exceedingly rare.
