1873 (Feb. 11) to Worms, Germany, orange envelope bearing 6¢ carmine (148) tied by full strike of NYFM circle of wedges cancellation, red "New York Paid All Direct" c.d.s., framed "Bremen Franco" (3.7) handstamp in red, German (3.8) arrival backstamp; slightly rough opening at top, Fine and very rare., Weiss recorded only three covers, two new example have been recorded including this one. Weiss TR-W19.

This cancellation is the new earliest recorded use and extends the known period of use from Feb. 22 to Mar. 1, 1873. It was apparently used for only 9 days.
