Francis at St. Louis Mo., purple "Nahiku, Ter. of Hawaii" straightline with manuscript "2/17/04" date, appropriate registry markings, St. Louis (3.22) arrival handstamps, sender's address "N.E. Lemmore, Nahiku, Hawai, Bird's Nest Fern," and; 10¢ and 50¢ faulty, Fine.

The $9.70 franking paid four hundred and eighty-one times (30lbs., 1 oz.) the 2¢ per oz. first class letter rate plus an 8¢ registry fee. The parcel was addressed to David R. Francis, the President of the Lousiana Purchase Exposition Company, and contained a tropical "Bird's Nest Fern", indicated by the sender's notation.
