Contrary to the Post Office announcement, St. Louis and other cities sold stamps to the public prior to the Official April 30, 1904 first day of issue. Apparently, St. Louis started selling them to the public on April 29th, see the endorsement on the following lot. This cover was not recorded in the Berkun census.
