Note Signed as Home Secretary, Whitehall, January 21, 1822, on back of a fragment of a letter of acknowledgment, 7¾ x 3¼ also acknowledging receipt of a petition to the King, minor faults including one word of text erased. Written just four days after Peel's appointment as Home Secretary, which was his first major cabinet position.
