BK
1912 2¢ carmine (406a, BK35v.), two panes with experimental interleaving in unexploded 25¢ booklet black on cream, panes are position A. Very Fine. Estimate 3,000 - 4,000
The interleaving is deeply embossed white waxed paper that looks as if it were run between knurled wheels similar to those that were used to grill earlier postal issues. Across the middle of each interleaf in two rows, one being inverted, appears "Pat. Sept. 20, 1904." An unusual and desirable experimental booklet for the booklet pane specialist. Accompanied by a photocopy of an article from the Bureau Specialist March 1940 on the subject.
