2d blue on blue (SG 5), large to clear margins virtually all around, boldly cancelled and just tied "1" on 1856 (23 June) envelope from Auckland to Newcastle upon Tyne (18.10), with "Prudhoe Station" circular undated datestamp and "Plymouth/Ship Letter" c.d.s. (17.10) on reverse, handstruck "8" on front indicating 8d ship letter rate charge payable by recipient, Very Fine. Campbell Paterson A2b.
