2d bright blue, plate II, background lines heavily retouched (SG 115a), horizontal strip of five, from row 18, positions 1-5, cancelled "Alf" in manuscript and additionally by "C" in oval of bars, on 1869 envelope from Alford Forest to Edinburgh (1.11) via Christchurch (1.9), the center stamp is defective at foot, Fine and rare strip showing all five retouched stamps from this row of the sheet, further enhanced by a rare manuscript cancellation.
