Admiral Husband E. Kimmel (1882-1968), Commander-in-Chief of the Pacific Fleet at the time of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor; released of his command ten days later.

Typed Letter Signed, 6 Mar 1941, on U.S.S. Pennsylvania letterhead, enclosing a check (not present) for the Fleet's contribution to the Red Cross; also a cover cancelled at Pearl harbor on the first anniversary of the attack. Pennsylvania was in drydock at the time of the attack but still had 15 men killed, 14 missing and 38 wounded.
