1869, 1¢ buff (112 [2], 115), one 1¢ with capture of plate "No. 1" at bottom, tied by circle of wedges cancels on orange cover to Paris, France, red "New York Feb 9"exchange c.d.s., "GB/40c" accountancy handstamp, manuscript "20" decimes due handstamp, prepaid for double 4¢ Open Mail rate but the "20" due marking indicates it was treated as quadruple rate in France, reverse with "Short Paid" backstamp two London (2.21.1870) transits; minor stamp faults, otherwise a Very Fine and scarce usage.
