Feraud, Panama" doube-circle handstamp, additional manuscript "Fwd by R. M. Harrison, U.S. Consul" endorsement on flap, entered Philadelphia with red Full-Rigged Ship handstamp and matching "Phila. 7 Sep" postmark, interesting content from a Naval Officer mentioning rumors of war with France ("a brush with France would not only be of service to our navy but would be very popular in it, as it would certainly advance the officers"), civil war in Peru, travel in Mexico, etc. file fold, Very Fine and rare combination of markings.
