1930, Europe Pan-America Zeppelin Flight (Michel 68 Gb), registered cover with Nicaragua/U.S. mixed franking intended to go by Zeppelin from Havana to Lakehurst but finally flown from Lakehurst to Friedrichshafen, franked with 5 airmail and (on reverse) 3 regular stamps totaling 1.27 cor, cancelled May 15, backstamped Havana (May 18) and New York (May 23) registry division transit markings, U.S. $1.30 Zeppelin (C14) tied by May 27 Lakehurst duplex, red German and purple U.S. Zeppelin cachets. Very Fine and very scarce. (Sieger 64 IX) Sieger notes six covers (and five cards) flown, but the seven covers we offer here, plus the two sold in our October 20th auction, prove that number is understated by four.
