"Per Flag of Truce via Fortress Monroe and City Point", bearing U.S. 3¢ rose (65), tied by "Columbus O./Jan 6 1864" duplex, in combination with 10¢ blue, Die B (12) tied by "Richmond Va./Jan 18" c.d.s., one of the latest usages of Poten's manuscript examiner's mark prior to the introduction of his own handstamp in late Jan. 1864 in order to facilitate the handling of the large volume of mail, stamps have faults and cover has trivial restoration at upper left corner, nevertheless Fine and appealing.
