Decb. 14 1861" but sent through Norfolk: "I earnestly hope a reply to this may reach me by way of Norfolk. Prepay your notes, postage, leave it open, enclose the Federal postage (3 cts.) from Norfolk to Philada, enclose the whole directed to the Confedt commander at Norfolk for me and I hear I may get it."
