Richelieu, Armand Jean du Plessis; Cardinal-Duc de (1585-1642), French Clergyman, noble and statesman, Document Signed as First Minister in the Royal Council of Ministers to Louis XIII, 16 pages, 8½ x 13, 1625. Royal decree in French, untranslated. Countersigned by various members of the Council including Nicolas Potier, Chancellor; Claude Bouthillier, Sieur de Fouilletourte, Councillor of State and Secretary to the Queen; Florent d’Argouges, Treasurer; and Jacqueline de la Grange, daughter of Étienne la Grange, president of the French Parliament, whose bold and large signature appears at the bottom of seven pages; along with a couple of other unknown signatures. Strongly penned and boldly signed by each Council member. Normal amount of toning of page margins that does not affect legibility, some weakness along binding and small piece of lower right-hand corner of last page missing, Fine.
