1847, 5¢ red brown (1), four margins, tied by red circled "5" rate handstamp on cover addressed to Samuel Ruggles in New York City, most likely cancelled enroute to New York by a route agent; faint wax seal stain, otherwise Very Fine, Ruggles was closely associated with canal policy in New York and had considerable influence in the shaping of Manhattan, he laid out and named Gramercy Park, named Lexington Ave., etc.
