1869, 15¢ brown & blue, type II, center inverted (119b), nicely centered for this with a neat 5-point star cancel struck at the top and leaving the vignette largely untouched so that the invert center is clearly visible; short perfs and tiny edge tears but otherwise an attractive example of this rare and popular error.

A LARGE MAJORITY OF THE USED 15¢ AND 24¢ 1869 INVERTS HAVE CANCELS OBSCURING THE VIGNETTE, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO PLAINLY SEE THAT IT IS INVERTED. IN THAT RESPECT, THIS EXAMPLE IS FAR SUPERIOR TO MOST.
