1851, 1¢ blue, types II, IIIa (7, 8A), vertical strip of 3, types II-IIIa-II, pos. 71/81/91L1E, each stamp showing inverted transfer, first two showing double transfer, last showing triple transfer, margins all around except barely at bottom center, tied by single pen stroke on reverse of small embossed ladies envelope to N.C., manuscript. "Ft. Browder Ala. May 23" postmark; strip with creasing between stamps (partly scissors separation between 71 & 81), bottom stamp with three tiny scrapes, Fine, a remarkable franking.
