AN EXTRAORDINARY EXAMPLE OF THIS RARE TYPE IC — POSITION 96R4 IS CONSIDERED BY SPECIALISTS TO BE ONE OF THE TWO FINEST EXAMPLES OF THE TYPE.

Expertization: 1996 PF Certificate noting position but mistakenly noting Scott number as 6.

There are eight positions on plate 4 that produced type Ic stamps. Six of those are "E" reliefs, while the other two are "F" reliefs from the bottom row of the right pane. The latter two, positions 91R and 96R, are considered to display the finest type characteristics.
