A SELDOM SEEN, COMPLETELY SOUND EXAMPLE OF THE RARE 5¢ CONTINENTAL "J" GRILL.

Expertization: 1986 PF Certificate.

In all likelihood, most, if not all, of the J. grills in private hands originated in the archives of Charles Steel, who was employed by both the National and the Continental Bank Note Companies, and who patented the various grilling machines used during the 1867-1875 period.
