1867 (Jun. 26) Victoria, Vancouver Island to Oldham, Great Britain via San Francisco, envelope with original datelined enclosure from Victoria, blue "Post Office, Victoria, Vancouver Island, Paid" oval handstamp and bearing 24¢ gray (78b) tied by "San Francisco Cal Jul 1" duplex upon arrival, partial red "New York Br Pkt Paid 19" c.d.s., Manchester (8.3) and Oldham (8.3) backstamps; some edgewear and soiling, stamp with short perfs, Fine.

The Victoria post office stocked a supply of U.S. postage and had a special mail arrangement with the San Fransisco post office. By 1865, the San Francisco post office was a foreign exchange office and the 5¢ west coast fee was no longer in effect.
