Lot 4205

/o

U.S. Collection, 1845-1938, comprehensive, virtually intact collection in an 8-page stockbook; starts with a New York Provisional (9X1) and 5¢ & 10¢ 1847 and goes from there, missing mainly the rarites; 1869s are complete (there is a gorgeous used 30¢ with a tiny thin), as are most of the Bank Notes; the Columbians lack only the $5, the First Bureaus, Trans-Miss. and Pan-Ams are complete, and later mint include #369, 39-403, 461, 467, 479, 524, 573 (NH), 581-91, Kans.-Nebr., C1-18 (C13 NH, C14 tiny thin); there are also a few Back-of-the-Book, including some surprisingly better items, like a passable example of RS16; now about condition: it's extremely mixed, from spacefillers to VF.; a good example being a mint, F-VF $1 Trans-Miss. with a small thin sitting next to a used $2 with a small piece missing; but such is the "charm" of this collection. Be prepared to spend some time on this one.
