Nov. 12" c.d.s. on 1849 folded letter to Charleston, Va., manuscript "Due 5", underpaid double rate usage with scarce slave content: "I wish to know if negroes have risen and what are young men from 18 to 20 years old worth., also likely women in cash and can they be sold readily at auction for cash in Charleston. I have 7 negroes…" etc., stamp with light vertical file fold, Very Fine appearance.
