High Catalog, Mainly Mint Collection, 1851-2006, comprehensive starter collection in three Scott National albums; 19th century issues are very mixed, primarily with centering or gum issues; by 1879 however, condition becomes somewhat better, though there are still a few problems and condition is seldom better than Fine on the best stamps, including #218, 1890 Issue complete, Columbians to the $2, 1894 Bureaus to the $1 (type I), 1895 Bureaus to the $2, Trans-Mississippis to the 50¢ and 1902s to the $2 (last with 1991 PFC); from the Washington-Franklins onward most are F-VF, including 404, 500, 505 and 523, and NH 599A (NH pair), 634A and Kans.-Nebr. overprints; Airmails lack only C13-15, Special Deliveries are complete, as are Shanghais and Parcel Posts; and Postage Dues and Officials are quite solid. Overall an exceptional starter collection or a terrific lot from which to fill those tough spaces without paying a huge premium for condition.
