Canada, 1898 Christmas Issue, specialized collection of the 1898 Imperial Penny Post stamps, Scott #85-86, neatly mounted and written up on 27 homemade pages; includes 180 stamps (about 40 of which are mint) and nine covers with all manner of shades, cancels and (mainly) printing flaws; also includes three well executed pen & ink drawings of what would be considered progress proofs, showing the stamp as it would have looked as each of the colors was added. A marvelous lot that was originally assembled more than 50 years ago.
