Danish West Indies, 1817 (Sep. 13) St. Croix to Dublin, Ireland via Falmouth, datelined folded letter bearing fine strike of green "Leeward Islands, F, 24 OC 24, 1812" rimless postmark, manuscript "2/6" rating for double the 1 shilling packet rate plus 6d inland postage, readdressed to Castledermot and re-rated "2/11" to include 5d forwarding postage; some toning and front panel separating, Fine and scarce.

The "Leewark Islands F" mark was used in Falmouth for packet letters arriving from the Danish West Indies during 1808-1841. Seventeen letters with this marking are recorded, with only 7 during the first use cycle of 1808-1817. Most were destined for London.
