A FRESH AND ATTRACTIVE EXAMPLE OF THIS EXCEEDINGLY RARE MINT BLOCK OF WHICH ONLY FOUR HAVE BEEN RECORDED.

Provenance: Klein

There are very few unused 12¢ E. grill blocks of four recorded and one that was missing from most major block collections of the past. Quick perusal of major name sales turns up four examples: Col. Green had two blocks of four, the Ex-Hind, Zoellner block of four, and the block offered here originally in the Klein collection. The block of six originally offered in the 1983 Rarity sale is believed to have been broken up, making the blocks of four the largest recorded unused multiples.
