Canada, 1859, Prince Albert, 10¢ deep red purple, diagonal bisect (Unitrade 17d var.), lower right diagonal half, with rich color characteristic of order 2B, superbly tied across half by concentric rings cancel on buff cover to Hatley, matching "Lennoxville C.E., NO 29 1860" c.d.s., manuscript "Paid" and additional "Paid" handstamp over which bisect was carefully applied, "Brompton C.E., NO 28 1860" origin c.d.s. on reverse; cover with repaired opening tear just touching address and small part of backflap missing, still a Very Fine and rare bisect use. Scott 17d var.
