Canada, 1851, Prince Albert, 6d slate violet, laid paper (Unitrade 2), horizontal pair with strong laid lines and beautiful color, clear to large margins except just touching at top right, small scissor cut in margin between, barely noticeable crease in left stamp, canceled by central strike of neat target cancel on cover to New York City, red "St. Thomas U.C., Oct 22 1852" c.d.s., red "Canada" in arc handstamp, some additional red cancelling ink ties pair; a Very Fine use prepaying the 12d rate for up to 1 oz. Scott 2.
