Large Cross (Weiss TR-M5), a choice strike of this cancel that is normally found poorly struck and incomplete, ties 10¢ brown (150), fresh with strong color, on 1873 yellow cover to Italy at the 10¢ closed mail rate via England, red "New York Paid All via Eng. & Ostd., Feb 15" exchange c.d.s., Basel (3.1.73) transit and Airolo (3.2) arrival c.d.s.; reduced slightly at top from opening, Very Fine.
